Earth To Echo Movie Review

Ruth Christensen

Last summer a new sci-fi movie came out. Taking on the name, Earth To Echo, this modern remake of ET focuses on three young boys. Tuck, Munch, and Alex. The beginning of the movie shows that the Government has bought the land that their community is on, to build a highway. Being forced to move from their homes the 3 friends would move to different states, but being, only kids can’t do anything about it. A week before they leave their phones go haywire. Showing them a map to a strange object. They soon find out that in the object is friendly yet cute other worldly life. To help their new friend, who they named Echo, they go all over the desert to find the missing pieces to help Echo rebuild his spaceship. Along the way they team up with a girl from school, Emma, to get Echo home. They soon find out they aren’t the only ones intrigued by the alien life form. Someone else is trying to find Echo. Who was it? What is going to happen? Sorry I can’t spoil it, you’ll have to watch for yourself.

I really loved this movie. They got the best characters and not to mention Echo is the cutest thing that ever walked the planet or well hovered the plant. To me it’s easier to relate to this story because while aliens probably won’t call  me through cell phone maps, it’s filmed through the eyes of kids that make a difference. It’s a really amazing story.

Like every movie Earth to Echo it has its ups and downs. To get out to the desert where the map leads, they lie to there parents saying “I’m going to a sleepover”. They ride their bikes out in to the desert alone at night and do a whole lot of thing parents will probably say, don’t ever try that. Like stealing a  car, driving without any experience or licenses, trespassing breaking in a house, common child hood things like that. There is some language in this movie, not a lot, but some.  The way it’s filmed can be aggravating at times. The whole movie is filmed through a video camera held by Tuck who is running and riding a bike most of the movie. I even got dizzy the first 10 minutes but I soon got used to it. I think it was still really really good. I hope you get to watch it.  But remember before you watch it ask your parents or guardians. They might not be watching but God is. This Your Glow writer Ruth E. Christensen wishing you a happy Easer and giving this movie a five out of five star rating
