My 8-month-old puppy Blackjack is the craziest cuddliest puppy ever. Since the day we brought him home Blackjack has been very protective of his backyard. Pigeons and Squirrels beware because all ferocious ten pounds of him watch that yard like a hawk. You can imagine his stress the day the tree trimmers invaded and the poor puppy was forced inside all day. Blackjack kept a vigilant watch at the back door for about the first thirty minutes. The stressed puppy then spent the entire day climbing into to the lap of anyone sitting and begging to be picked up otherwise. The cure for Blackjack’s stress; being held by his loving owners.
Wouldn’t it be great if we all reacted to stress the way Blackjack did? Instead of watching and worrying over our problems we climbed into the arms of our Father God and let ourselves be held in his perfect peace and love. The amazing thing is that just like I love holding my cuddly puppy, God loves holding us too! In Psalm 56:8 “Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll are they not in your record?” God not only numbered the hair upon our head but the records all the tears we shed. The next time you feel stress or sorrow remember that we worship a God who really cares about us! Crawl into his lap and cast your cares on him!
Psalm 27:5
“For in the day of trouble
He will keep me safe in his dwelling;
He will hide in the shelter of his tent
And set me high upon a rock.”
