Valentines day is just around the corner and every year I am surprised by the number of single girls who hate the holiday. Especially those of us who seem to only know people in a great dating relationship. Being a hopeless romantic I have always loved the holiday, lots of pink and hallmark specials but it does leave you wondering why do some girls just seem to have it all together? Every felt like that well then we would probably be in the same boat so grab a paddle girlfriend because I’ve got a story to tell you and our hero just happens to know a few fisherman.
In the words of Jimmy Needham “ this is a story, a story about a hero and a damsel so bend down untie your sandals because where we’re going is holy ground. “Our hero is all powerful, so mighty he placed the stars by name, he breathed the sun and moon in a breath and he can still the oceans, part them with his hands. He breathed his damsel into existence, and the first thing she did was turn to a lie and walk away. Our hero saw his damsel so covered in sin and filth he could hardly look at her. So our hero gave up his only son to come down and be the sacrifice for the damsel. He fought the battle, the ultimate and the mighty hero defeated death for his damsel, he fought the ultimate battle because of his unconditional unfailing love for his damsel and...
That’s right our hero won but what did the damsel do about it? Well that’s up to you fair damsel because we are the ones so covered in sin that the hero gave up his only son, he fought the battle against death, and he won! The hero, our hero, is God and we are right in the middle of the ultimate love story!
You think you don’t get flowers like other girls do, guess what God filled up fields full of them, every kind you could imagine and they are for you and I! This valentines day you got the ultimate love story and the ending is still open, the hero has made the sacrifice, he fought for you, paid in his own blood, all you have to do is accept his free gift of salvation.
