Hope, Living Hope
What is something that defines you something that you think sets you apart? A personality trait, a quirk, an interest? Is it something you like or don’t particularly enjoy having?
The definition of character is “one of the attributes or features that make up and distinguish an individual. We all have something that makes us unique it’s one of the amazing things about God’s handiwork he “created man in His own image” in Genesis 1:27 and “we are His handiwork” Ephesians 2:10. But every one of us who belongs to Christ has a special “attribute” that defines us. The thing that sets up apart from all nonbelievers, defines our character like nothing else, as Christians we have hope.
“ Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”-1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
Not only do we have hope but a living hope, the kind that never fades. This hope we carry with us throughout our lives and up into heaven before our hope, this living hope, is Jesus, and the minute we accept him, that hope lives inside of us! Our hop will never fade God promises in Deuteronomy 31:6 “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. No thing we can do, no power, no darkness, no betrayal, not even the Devil himself can take away the hope inside of us. That hope is ours giving out of “his great mercy”. We are set apart and unique in Christ he has given us a living hope because Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day, he lived, died, and rose again so that He could dwell in us.
